An apartment can be practical for families, travellers needing a kitchen or visitors staying long enough to benefit from extra space. But the address and building access matter as much as the number of rooms.

Check before booking
Confirm whether the kitchen is private and equipped for your needs, whether the property has a lift, how many flights of stairs are involved, and whether washing facilities are inside the unit. For families, check the bed arrangements and whether bedrooms can be separated. Do not rely on a headline guest-capacity number alone.

Location matters

In Plaka and central Athens, older buildings may have narrow stairs and complex access. Apartments farther from the historic centre may offer more room but increase daily transport. If you plan to work during the stay, ask about Wi-Fi reliability and a suitable workspace rather than assuming every apartment is workation-ready.
Fees and arrival
Review cleaning charges, local taxes, security deposits, check-in instructions and policies for late arrivals. A self-check-in property can work well, but you need clear instructions if your flight is delayed. Our area comparison is a useful starting point before browsing accommodation.
