Funky Gourmet Restaurant began its operation in November 2009. In 2012 the restaurant was awarded its first Michelin star, a distinction it continued to retain for two years. In 2014, Funky Gourmet gained a second Michelin star.
In the warm and relaxing ambiance of our restaurant, we create carefully designed degustation menus inspired by unique local products and seasonality. We aspire to introduce our guests to our own point of view of a refined Greek cuisine.
Funky Gourmet restaurant is nestled in a neoclassical building in the heart of Athens at Keramikos. The main dining area on the first floor accommodates up to 30 people. There is an additional dining area on the ground floor that can serve up to 14 people.
In 2007, by introducing the concept of Private Cheffing in Greece they aimed to redefine the catering business. The chef can personally cook for you Funky Gourmet menus either in the privacy of your own home or at the restaurant premises, should you wish to book the space for your private cheffing occasion.
Funky Gourmet is also exceptionally suited for business meetings. The private dining area on the ground floor, with a built-in projector and accommodating up to 16 people, is an ideal environment for a business event. Respectively, the first floor of the restaurant can accommodate perfectly up to 30 people.
Alternatively, the same high quality service enjoyed at the restaurant may be offered at customers’ own business location.
We are very excited to introduce our guests to our new coffee service, our latest concept and our grand finale to our degustation menus. As an important closure to a meal, we believe that coffee deserves the same attentiveness to quality, detail and ritual as the food that preceded it.
Perci Red, one of the best 10 coffees of the world, is the current choice! Gesha variety produced by Ninety Plus in Panama and is prepared tableside for the guests through the Chemex method, a specialty filtering coffee process.To meet the owners specifications, this coffee is roasted especially for them. The beans are lightly roasted to produce a coffee with a deep red colour and not the usual black that we are accustomed to.
