Acropoli, the neighbourhood of the Gods

The area under Acropolis takes its name from the sacred hill of Athens. In modern Greek language it is called Acropoli and is the area near Akropoli Metro Station. Acropoli area is located between Plaka, Koukaki and Makrygianni areas and is one of the most central areas of Athens.

In Acropoli area you will find Dionysiou Aeropagitou street a pedestrian street with beautiful mansions of great architecture. There is also the Museum of the Acropolis (one of the must-see spots while in Athens), a lot of nice bars and cafeterias, a few nice hotels and vacation rentals (it will be hard to book one), the Odeon of Herodes Atticus (Herodion) and of course the entrance to visit the Acropolis hill and the Parthenon.

You will definitely visit it for sightseeing in the Acropolis and its Museum. You may also visit it to watch a concert at the Herodion. But, while you are there do not forget to try greek yoghurt with "spoon sweets" or honey and nuts.
