Just a breathe away from Athens downtown, in a small neighborhood, there is a coffee shop operating since 2012 called Taf Kappa. It took its name from the two words, extremely famous among Greeks in all ages, To Kafeneio (the coffee shop).

Keeping the traditional character while adding some modern elements, is the recipe for its fame and the dozens of locals who enter Taf Kappa every day. Also, it was one of the first renovated buildings on a small pedestrian street, that spread the word quickly and therefore contributed to the further evolution of the whole spot, making the place alive again.

Located right below the railway station in Petralona area, it is easy to find and visit to try the very best it has to offer. From American style pancakes with honey or maple syrup to Greek-style egg preparations, it will be quite difficult for you to choose among the fine, homemade delicacies.

The menu is very often enriched with new dishes and tasty creations, that can accompany your freshly made coffee or tea. Spend a lovely evening, or morning, in Taf Kappa watching the everyday life of a classic Athenian neighborhood and be a part of it.

Nicely decorated inside and with a wooden patio outside is the place to go for a coffee and some chat with a friend or to try one of the house created cocktails as the sun goes down.

In any case, the locals embraced it directly and never get bored of it for many years now. It is for sure a very good example of how Greeks choose to spend their free time after work or school and a friendly spot to get to know undoubtedly with Greek lifestyle.
