Athens Weather

Before visiting the Greek capital city, you definitely need to know how Athens weather will be during your trip. In general, Athens climate is mild and nice, with no low temperatures and extreme weather conditions. In summer Athens temperature can rise up to 42°C (107 °F), but usually it would be from 29°C (84°F) to 36°C (97°F). During winter, the temperature won’t fall lower than 0°C (32°F), while usually it varies from 8°C (46°F) to 20°C (68°F).

Athens has Mediterranean Climate, a typically mild climate, with medium temperature, quite sunny days and nice nights. During winter time, there are a lot of sunny days as well, while you may also experience clouds and rain.

So, if you visit Athens during summer, make sure that you are prepared for warm days and evenings. If you have chosen the city for a winter city break, then be prepared for lower – but not cold – temperature.
