Greek national roads are not in the best condition that they could be, for sure. Driving on them is a difficult experience and one should be really careful.
The main national roads of Greece leading to Athens are E75 (from Thessaloniki) and E64 (from Patras). In particular spots of the Greek roads are Toll Stations, where you have to pay a toll from 2 euros (apr. 3 dollars) to 10 euros (apr. 15 dollars), depending on the station you pass and not your final destination.Toll fees for motorcycles are a bit cheaper than cars'. In case of an accident call 166 for an ambulance and 100 for the police (112 from a mobile phone).
In case of a car malfunction there are many companies that can access you everywhere in Greece. Some of the phone numbers that you can use are 154 (Express Service) and 10400 (ELPA). If your vehicle is rented you should better contact first your rental company for instructions.
