The district of Thisio is next to Monastiraki, under Acropolis. A stone paved traditional road (Dionysiu Aeropayitu Str.) will lead you to the entrance of Acropolis.
The area took its name from Thission (you may also see it written Thiseion or Thissio), the Temple of the ancient Greek god Hephaestus, that is situated in the Ancient Agora of Athens. In the Ancient Market you may visit monuments such as Stoa of Attalos, Agrippas Odeon, the Temple of Hephaestus and an old Christian Church.
In Thisio you will find a lot of cafeterias and nice small snack bars and restaurants.
