Syntagma is the centre of Modern Athens. Its name means Constitution in Greek and in its east part you can see Vouli ton Hellinon, the Parliament of the Greeks. In front of the Parliament is the Monument of the Unknown Soldier that Euzones guard day and night.
Syntagma Square is a part of the Modern Greek history since a lot of important things happened there. Demonstrations against the conquerors, fights between enemies, prime ministers and politicians from all over the world stayed here and several historic speeches where made.
Today in Syntagma Square you will find the main Station of Athens Metro, old and historic hotels and the Modern Market of Athens in Ermou street, with famous Greek and international top brands.
